Senior Business Continuity Planner
Health Care America (HCA) - Conducting Enterprise Business Impact Analysis Risk Assessment at the corporate level for a national healthcare organization. Interviewing Senior executives to justify enterprise wide Business Continuity Recovery planning effort. Developing a corporate wide Business Continuity Recovery implementation model based upon the enterprise BIA. Formulating methods and tools for roll-out.
CNA Insurance (Continental Casualty Company) - Responsible for the conversion of a paper based business continuity program to an electronic data collection and repository system. Developed implementation methodology and system architecture for configuration and initial deployment. Established deployment strategy leveraging current CNA business continuity planning environment and enhancement goals. Project included installation of electronic tool into CNA’s Information Technology environment supporting test and production disciplines. Educated CNA’s business continuity staff on the use of this tool and deployment / program methodologies.
Yale New Haven Hospitals - Conducted a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Analysis across regional hospitals. BIA findings were leveraged to define BC Program scope, prioritize launch targets, and justify the “Business Case” for implementing a BC Program.
Department of the Army - Part of a team to investigate information sources and identify processes required to evaluate existing supply chain risks to be used as the foundation for implementing a sustainable business continuity program throughout the critical elements of the Army’s Supply Chain. Through a series of interviews of key personnel and site visits, the team was able to create a Master Site Inventory, identify supply chain elements and provide formal recommendations for identified critical exposures. This information was used to develop a sustaining COOP (Continuity of Operations Planning) and Crisis Management programs. Deployed COOP planning on thirteen Army Programs across five installations. Additionally developed and conducted COOP exercises.
Boeing - Deployed methods and tools for Pandemic Continuity planning and Business Preparedness planning. Developed initial implementation and launch scheduling for Pandemic and Business Preparedness programs. Participated in the development of a corporate wide Pandemic Exercise. Conducted executive BIA findings interviews and reports leading to the development of the Business Preparedness program. Developed requirements for data collection efforts to sustain an enterprise Business Continuity deployment.
United Government Services - Conduct departmental surveys and developed recovery strategies through personal interviews. Contingency plans and Risk Mitigation strategies were developed for all departments. All plans were tested through employee involvement and training provided for the use of these plans. Responsible for annual testing and updating of these plans.
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals - Conducted executive BIA findings interviews leading to the definition of Wyeth’s Business Continuity Program. Created a toolkit of methods and tools required for Wyeth to deploy their Business Continuity program.
Kaiser Permanente - Assisted in developing the production schedule for 5 project teams to successfully launch Kaiser Permanente’s Business Continuity Program. As a mentor and trainer, responsible for the training of Kaiser Permanente teammates and medical staff in the Business Continuity process and led pilot programs for the Southern California Medical Centers. Led processes of data gathering, plan development and plan implementation. All Kaiser Permanente departments were trained in the use of their continuity plans. Directed the effort that resulted in the development of over 2000 business continuity plans, and worked with regional Emergency Operations Center to integrate and coordinate the activation through the use of the contingency model.

IBM Numa-Q - IBM Y2K Program Office. As a member of the Program Office, the primary function was to ensure the sustainability of all Manufacturing and Support Departments through the year 2000 rollover. Responsibilities included supporting all business contingency planning development efforts corporate-wide. The Program Office ensured contingency planning development, testing, and validation and remediation efforts. Responsible for developing a global command center to support all international and domestic rollover issues for all customer service centers worldwide.
Nike - Responsible for developing contingency and crisis management plans for Nike’s North American Manufacturing facilities. Working with a team of engineers, a complete inventory and analysis of all manufacturing and plant equipment was conducted. Contingency plans were developed from the evaluation of the engineering assessments of vulnerable processes. The Project also assessed Nikes supply-chain risks and vendor exposures. Mitigation strategies were developed to reduce Y2K vulnerabilities. Assisted in coordinating team and client actions to implement stockpiling and production strategies. Planned and coordinated testing exercises for all Nike Manufacturing facilities in North America.
Prior Manufacturing Experience:
- A Senior Engineer for Rocketdyne on the Space Shuttle Engines program and the Air Force’s Expendable launch vehicle program. Highlights include successful manufacturing improvements realizing over 2 million dollars annually in cost saving to the program.
- A Senior Engineer for McDonnell Douglas, expertise was used in the areas of Manufacturing Producability Issues, Methods Engineering and Production Planning streamlining.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from Purdue University
